    Behringer 2600

Hopefully it will be Eurorack scale. IMO, this is a preferable design in this day and age. The size and format of the original is not easy to ingrate or travel with.
  5. Introducing eleven new Eurorack compatible modules – all of them authentic reproductions of original “System 100M” circuitry from 1975. With ultra-fat oscillators and creamy filters the sound became famous in the early 80s used by artists like Depeche Mode, Human League, Tears For Fears but also Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and even Aphex Twin. If you’re into super-fat bass sounds, in-your-face leads or flowing soundscapes, definitely check them out! All modules are incredibly feature rich, have tremendous patching capabilities and a lot of them come with dual function, like: - 112 dual oscillator with 3 waveforms, PWM and two sync modes - 121 dual filter with 3-channel mixer per filter - 130 dual VCA, again with dual 3-channel mixers - 140 dual envelope has 3 outputs per ADSR plus a built in LFO that can be triggered and phase synced - 173 gates module comes even with four gates that can switch audio and 6 quad buffered multiples - 297 has a dual portamento controller plus two independent CV mixers - 150 brings a ring modulator, 2 noise generators, syncable LFO and a sample and hold generator - 172 module delivers a 6-step phase-shifter, an analog delay, an LFO and a gate delay - 305 is an output module a four-band parametric EQ, a 4-channel mixer, line and separate headphone output and even a tuning oscillator - 182 there is a powerful analog sequencer with either dual 8 steps or 1-16 steps and tempo, portamento and gate time controls - 110 is a complete synth voice with VCO, VCA and filter in a single module
  6. Let’s switch on the time machine and go back to the sound of the 1970s. Introducing: Our Modular 55, 35 & 15 Series! We’ve got more than 20 modules for you – all authentic reproductions of the circuitry from the “Modular 55, 35 & 15" Series. And all brought to the Eurorack standard but still staying true to the era with some specific features. That warm sound was loved by Artists from Tangerine Dream to Depeche Mode. And an earlier version used by Wendy Carlos on the famous album “Switched on Bach”. That brought the sound of synthesisers into mainstream music and became basically the founding father of all synths in pop music.

In 1978 a unique and quirky little synthesizer was born. The Wasp, as it was called, was a monophonic, two-octave keyboard that used touch-sensitive keys. It was a novel idea back then but tended to be unreliable and difficult to play. An ultra-affordable homage to that iconic synthesizer, with all the features of the original and then some, the Behringer WASP DELUXE lets you conjure up virtually any sound imaginable with incredible finesse and ease. Pure analog signal path based on authentic VCF and VCA designs in conjunction with a flexible 6-shape waveform LFO including noise and S&H with frequency and pitch modulation control. Having your very own WASP DELUXE is like having your own personal time machine, enabling you to freely embrace the past – or shape the future! True to the Original Great care has been taken in designing the WASP DELUXE including the true to the original “Wasp Deluxe” circuitry. This is what gives it its ultra-flexible sound shaping capability, which covers everything from super-fat bass and lead tones, stunning effects – and all the way out to the otherworldly sounds of your imagination. Big, Fat Tones The inspired synthesizer tracks laid down in the 1970s and ‘80s are etched in the annals of progressive rock, wave and synth-pop music forever, making them truly classic in every sense of the word. WASP DELUXE’s pure analog signal path based on authentic VCF and VCA designs, lets you recreate all of that magic – or design incredibly fat and original sounds that will make you a legend in your own right! Variable Oscillators More than just being true to the original, we just had to add more features. Each of the two oscillators comes with three variable waveforms: sawtooth, square wave and an enhanced mode which adds punch and some clarity to the oscillator’s tone. Both oscillators can be adjusted across a wide 5-octave range (32’, 16’ 8’, 4’ and 2’). Oscillator 1’s wave shape can be adjusted via the Width knob, while oscillator 2 has a pitch control that can be adjusted against oscillator 1’s pitch to create some really sweet modulation effects. To top it all off, these can be mixed and blended together with an external audio signal to get a truly unique sound. Even More Control The Control Oscillator section is where things start to get interesting. This section features a flexible LFO with six waveform shapes such as a sine wave, rising sawtooth, falling sawtooth, square wave, noise and random which can be further manipulated with the Frequency and Pitch knobs. A noise generator that dramatically expands waveform generation and can be mixed in to create additional percussion sounds. The WASP DELUXE also comes with a switchable, multi-mode VCF with Lo, Hi, Band and Notch filter options as well as a Freq and Q setting where you can play with the filter cutoff and width to get some really wild sounds that can add some spice to your music. Pushing the Envelope Next in the chain is where you can create some very intricate patches. The WASP DELUXE has two analog Envelope Generators for modulating the VCA and VCF. The VCA Envelope section contains an Attack, Decay, Sustain Level/Repeat knob as well as a hold switch that can be used to sustain a note indefinitely while the Control Envelope features Attack, Decay and Delay/Repeat knobs. Set these just right to get millisecond-quick notes ala Kraftwerk or create long atmospheric synth beds just like Vangelis in Bladerunner. 16-Note Poly Chain Ready While it is a monophonic instrument (one note at a time), WASP DELUXE’s 16-note Poly Chain function lets you combine multiple synthesizers for up to 16-voice polyphony – plus provides vastly improved reliability and stability over its 1970’s predecessor. Eurorack Ready Designed to handle the rigors of life on the road or in the studio, your WASP DELUXE can easily be transferred into a standard Eurorack case for the perfect integration into your existing system. Controls & Connectivity We just can’t help ourselves – like you, we’re gear-heads, too. For those who want the numbers, WASP DELUXE has 29 controls, all laid out in a highly intuitive format that puts the joy back into your music creation. Input and output connections include: MIDI I/O and Thru over USB/MIDI DIN; Main Audio via a 3.5mm TRS connection; LOW and HIGH Main outs via a ¼" TRS connection. Unleash Your Imagination When it comes to not just pushing envelopes but creating them, WASP DELUXE gives your imagination its voice – and it’s so very affordable. When modern performance calls for classic analog sound – it calls for the Behringer WASP DELUXE!

  19. Moog's new Subsequent 25 analog synth is the successor to the award-winning Sub Phatty from the Asheville-based company. In addition to various hardware updates, such as a more powerful headphone amplifier and a retuned Multidrive circuit, it now also features a DUO (duophonic) mode like that of the Sub 37 and has been modified by extending the tone with much more gritty sounds than the Sub Phatty. Unlike the Sub-Phatty, the new Subsequent 25 has wooden side panels, as well as its older brother Subsequent 37, and offers the same possibility of recalling presets via editor plugins available free of charge for both Mac and Windows. The Gain stage of the historic Ladder filter has been remodeled to increase harmonic saturation and analog compression. The on-board presets have been designed and optimized to take full advantage of the Subsequent25 circuits. The keyboard has been updated to improve playability. With all these new specifications, the Subsequent 25 presents itself as one of the most suitable machines for musicians, producers and sound designers, who do not need many octaves but rather a great freedom as regards the creation of new sounds. 20. Sequential has announced the Pro 3, a new flagship mono/paraphonic synthesizer. A hybrid instrument, the Pro 3 features three classic analog filters (Prophet-6, OB-6, and ladder) and three oscillators (two VCOs and one wavetable oscillator) along with a powerful new 16-track sequencer, and the ability to connect with modular synths through its four control voltage ins/outs. “In many ways the Pro 3 is the evolution of a concept that started with the classic Sequential Circuits Pro-One,” said Sequential founder Dave Smith: “Pack as much power as possible into a compact footprint and make it sound awesome. To do that, we built on the strengths of its modern-day counterpart, the Pro 2, and created a worthy successor to both that sets a new benchmark for raw power and versatility.” Part of this sonic versatility comes from the Pro 3’s oscillators: Two voltage controlled oscillators provide traditional triangle, saw, and pulse waves with waveshaping, while a third digital wavetable oscillator provides 32 tables of 16 waves each with wave morphing. Three vintage-style filters shape the sound of these oscillators. Filter 1 is a 4-pole low-pass design based on the Prophet-6 filter. Filter 2 is a classic transistor ladder filter with optional resonance compensation to preserve its low-end punch. Filter 3 is a classic 2-pole, state-variable design based on the OB-6 filter that can be continuously varied between low-pass, notch, and high-pass operation, with an optional band-pass mode. A Drive control provides additional punch to all three filters. The feature set of the Pro 3 is rounded out with a multimode arpeggiator, three LFOs, four loopable ADSR+delay envelopes, dual digital effects (delays, reverbs, and various time-based effects), tuned feedback, analog distortion, and extensive modulation possibilities. The LFOs, delay, and arpeggiator can be synced to either the internal clock or an external MIDI clock. A programmable position-sensitive touch slider and pitch and mod wheels provide nuanced control over live performance. The synth is also capable of 3-voice paraphonic operation. This makes it possible to play 3-note chords where the three individual oscillators share a common filter and envelopes. The full-featured sequencer provides 16-track sequences of up to 64 steps, with ratcheting, variable gate and sequence lengths, multiple playback modes, and paraphonic operation. It also syncs to MIDI clock and external audio input, and inputs/outputs control voltages. In addition to notes, sequence tracks can control any parameter in the 32-slot, 171-destination modulation matrix. Another key feature of the Pro 3 is its four scalable rear-panel control voltage inputs and outputs, which allow compatibility with modular synths. Control voltages are routed from within the modulation matrix and run at audio rates for extreme modulation effects. “We wanted to make the Pro 3 as flexible as possible,” said Smith. “The CVs and deep mod matrix make it a mini modular in its own right — without all the patch cables.” Sequential is also offering the Pro 3 SE, a special edition version of the synthesizer that puts the same synthesis power into a collector-worthy design that features a tilt-up control panel and full, premium-grade walnut trim. A Three-Generation Legacy The Pro 3 SE is Sequential’s Special Edition of its new flagship 2-VCO + wavetable mono/paraphonic synth. It features a handsome, multi-angle tilt-up panel and full premium-grade walnut trim. The Power of 3 The Pro 3 SE boasts the same powerful sound engine as the standard edition Pro 3: three oscillators, three vintage filters, three LFOs, four loopable envelopes, a massive 32-slot mod matrix, and a 16 x 16 x 4 sequencer. Throw in dual digital effects and four control voltage ins and outs, and you’ve got a hugely powerful instrument that’s as exciting to program as it is to play. A Next-Generation Classic The Pro 3 SE is a hybrid of solid, old-school analog synthesis paired with versatile digital technology. Its two voltage controlled oscillators provide warmth and presence while its third wavetable oscillator provides digital edge and grit. With 32 tables of 16 waves each and wave morphing, tonal possibilities are immense. Tuned feedback with grunge, and analog distortion deliver industrial-grade nastiness on demand. Three Filters Based on Vintage Designs At the heart of the Pro 3 SE’s ballsy sound are its vintage-style filters. An additional Drive control provides still more punch when you really want to get down and dirty. Expressive Sequencing Possibly the Pro 3 SE’s most powerful performance tool is its sequencer. With 16 tracks, 16 steps, and 4 phrases, it features both real-time and step input, ratcheting, variable gate and sequence lengths, multiple playback modes, and paraphonic operation. It also syncs to MIDI clock and external audio input, and inputs/outputs control voltages. In addition to notes, sequence tracks can control any parameter in the 171-destination modulation matrix. Plays Well with Modulars The Pro 3 SE’s flexible architecture opens the door to not only processing external audio, but also to interfacing with modular synths through its 4 rear-panel control voltage inputs/outputs and a dedicated gate output. Control voltages can be assigned and routed from within the modulation matrix and can run at audio rates for extreme modulation effects. Some of the many parameters that can be sent to the CV outputs include oscillators, LFOs, envelopes, and sequencer tracks, allowing the Pro 3 to become the central hub of a modular or multi-synth setup. Effects, Envelopes, LFOs, an Arpeggiator, and Extreme Modulation The Pro 3 SE’s Effects section provides delays, reverbs, time-domain effects such as chorus/phasing/flanging and more. There are four loopable five-stage envelope generators, three syncable LFOs with slew and phase offset, a full-featured arpeggiator, and a 32-slot modulation matrix with dozens of modulation sources and over a hundred destinations. Monophonic and Paraphonic Operation The Pro 3 SE was designed to be a super-powerful monosynth, but it is also a versatile 3-voice paraphonic synth. This makes playing 3-note chords not only possible, but with creative use of effects and some per-oscillator modulation, very expressive. Put all of this sonic power in a three-octave, semi-weighted keyboard with velocity and channel aftertouch, add backlit pitch and mod wheels and a location-sensitive touch slider, and you’ve got one of the most inspiring synths ever made. The Pro 3 standard edition will be available at the end of January with a US MAP of $1,599. The Pro 3 SE will be available in February with a US MAP of $2,099.

“The CVs and deep mod matrix make it a mini modular in its own right — without all the patch cables.” A Three-Generation Legacy The Sequential Pro 1 and Pro 2 mono synths achieved nearly legendary status in their time. So it was only natural that we build on their strengths with an even more worthy successor. Enter the Pro 3, Sequential’s 2-VCO + wavetable mono/paraphonic synth — a new benchmark for raw sonic power and unrivalled versatility. The Power of 3 The Pro 3 boasts three oscillators, three vintage filters, three LFOs, four loopable envelopes, a massive 32-slot mod matrix, and a 16 x 16 x 4 sequencer. Throw in dual digital effects and four control voltage ins and outs, and you’ve got a hugely powerful instrument that’s as exciting to program as it is to play. A Next-Generation Classic The Pro 3 is a hybrid of solid, old-school analog synthesis paired with versatile digital technology. Three Filters Based on Vintage Designs At the heart of the Pro 3’s ballsy sound are its vintage-style filters. An additional Drive control provides still more punch when you really want to get down and dirty. Expressive Sequencing Possibly the Pro 3’s most powerful performance tool is its sequencer. Plays Well with Modulars The Pro 3’s flexible architecture opens the door to not only processing external audio, but also to interfacing with modular synths through its 4 rear-panel control voltage inputs/outputs and a dedicated gate output. Effects, Envelopes, LFOs, an Arpeggiator, and Extreme Modulation The Pro 3’s Effects section provides delays, reverbs, time-domain effects such as chorus/phasing/flanging and more. There are four loopable five-stage envelope generators, three syncable LFOs with slew and phase offset, a full-featured arpeggiator, and a 32-slot modulation matrix with dozens of modulation sources and over a hundred destinations. Monophonic and Paraphonic Operation The Pro 3 was designed to be a super-powerful monosynth, but it is also a versatile 3-voice paraphonic synth.

  27. Classic Keys is a beautifully photographed and illustrated book focusing on the signature rock keyboard sounds of the 1950s to the early 1980s. It celebrates the Hammond B-3 organ, Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, the Vox Continental and Farfisa combo organs, the Hohner Clavinet, the Mellotron, the Minimoog and other famous and collectable instruments. “This book is a must for all who love keyboards and their history and indeed, music in general. It should be on every music lover’s bookshelf.” Rick Wakeman - Keyboard player for Yes, solo artist and session player From the earliest days of rock music, the role of keyboards has grown dramatically. Advancements in electronics created a crescendo of musical invention. In the thirty short years between 1950 and 1980, the rock keyboard went from being whatever down-on-its-luck piano awaited a band in a bar or concert hall to a portable digital orchestra. It made keyboards a centerpiece of the sound of many top rock bands, and a handful of them became icons of both sound and design. Their sounds live on: Digitally, in the memory chips of modern keyboards, and in their original form thanks to a growing group of musicians and collectors of many ages and nationalities. Classic Keys explores the sound, lore, and technology of these iconic instruments, including their place in the historical development of keyboard instruments, music, and the international keyboard instrument industry. Twelve significant instruments are presented as the chapter foundations, together with information about and comparisons with more than thirty-six others. Included are short profiles of modern musicians, composers, and others who collect, use, and prize these instruments years after they went out of production. Both authors are avid musicians, collect and restore vintage keyboards, and are well-known and respected in the international community of web forums devoted to these instruments. In Classic Keys, the story of keyboard development is structured around the twelve signature keyboard sounds of the rock era. Historical context is provided in Overture and three introductory chapters, and then expanded in the instrument-themed chapters. Classic Keys is the perfect gift for anyone with an interest in music, music history or popular culture. It discusses and illustrates some of the world’s most collectible vintage instruments at a level of detail to satisfy collectors and restorers, and contains exclusive information and images that are not available on the web. Classic Keys is the ideal gift for: Musicians Vintage instrument collectors Home recording enthusiasts Music students Music educators University music departments Recording studios Museum curators Cultural studies enthusiasts and students Industrial designers
  28. The UDO Super 6 takes clear inspiration from the Roland polysynths of yesteryear, while simultaneously applying their own design ideas to create a synth unlike anything that came before it. With a fully stereo signal path, FPGA-based oscillators, analog filters, and 192kHz, 24-bit effects, this 12-voice hybrid behemoth will do everything from classic Roland pads and supersaws to swarming, modulated textures unlike anything else. Each voice offers two FPGA-based DDS oscillators, each providing a unique set of sonic options. The first is a "super-wavetable" oscillator...a lot like a supersaw, but with the potential to use considerably more complex waveshapes as its foundation. Users can alter the phase of this oscillators' individual instances across the stereo field, creating a strikingly deep stereo image. The second oscillator functions as a more typical analog-style oscillator: classic waveshapes, with hard sync, a suboscillator, and of course, PWM. The sound then passes into a resonant highpass filter and onward to a resonant 4-pole lowpass, both fully analog. The highpass may be set to a fixed cutoff frequency, or its response can be coupled to the lowpass in order to create bandpass-like effects. The lowpass filter self-oscillates, can track the keyboard, and offers a number of direct modulation options, allowing for complex filter-based sound design techniques. The sound then passes through analog VCAs and into a 192kHz stereo chorus and delay section, drenching the already huge sound in waves of lush stereo goodness. The center of the instrument is a complex modulation matrix, where the two envelopes, LFOs, keyboard, and external control sources collide to define complex sonic interactions well beyond the capability of the 1980s synths the UDO resembles. This is one of the many places the Super 6 truly shines: while it clearly has a strong legacy preceding it, it provides a tremendous number of options for breaking free of the past into entirely new ways of sound-making. All of this combined with a velocity and aftertouch-capable Fatar keybed, built-in arpeggiator, built-in sequencer, and remarkable build quality gives the Super 6 its own unique place in the world of polyphonic synthesizers. OVERVIEW + 12-VOICE POLYPHONIC ANALOG-HYBRID SYNTHESIZER + BINAURAL ANALOG SIGNAL PATH FOR STEREO MOVEMENT AND SPATIAL EFFECTS + 7-CORE SUPER-WAVETABLE MAIN OSCILLATOR WITH WAVEFORM DOWNLOAD + DDS OSCILLATOR 2 WITH FM, SYNC, SUB OSCILLATOR AND X-FADE MODES + 4 OCTAVE FATAR KEYBOARD WITH VELOCITY AND AFTERTOUCH, EXPRESSION AND SUSTAIN + FLEXIBLE HYBRID FPGA & ANALOG VOICE ARCHITECTURE + ROBUSTLY BUILT WITH SOLID, PLAYABLE CONTROLS + MULTI-PURPOSE FLEXIBLE LFOS, ENVELOPES & MODULATION MATRIX + ARPEGGIATOR & STEP SEQUENCER + EXTERNAL AUDIO INPUT WITH AUDIO TRIGGER + DUAL STEREO 24-BIT DIGITAL EFFECTS
