Jon Johnson
At NAMM 2017: There was a new up and coming company with a new synthesizer built upon the legacy of the Oberheim OB-X. Shear electronics has launched their first product called the Relic-6. This unit just may be the final head turner of this year's show according to attendees that took the time to stop by and see/hear the demo unit. The instrument has 2 VCO's with SAW and Pulse Variable waves with sync. Also onboard is the Oberheim 12db 2-Pole Filter. It can also layer two sounds and is in an aluminum case with custom wooden side panels. Currently they have a waiting list with no deposit required. They only want to know how many folks are interested in buying one. The current plan is to have it available by Summer 2017. Visit their website for more info and to sign up for the waiting list. http://shearelectronics.com/index.html To hear and see the Relic-6 in action watch this video from Sonic State from NAMM 2017
