The Roland TR-626 Rhythm Composer is a 12-bit digital sample based machine developed from the TR-505. It features additional sounds and more control. It offered real-time and step recording modes, with 48 preset patterns and 48 user patterns. It’s simple matrix display showed the current pattern in a graphical representation and with 16 drum tone pads and 8 voices of polyphony, it was an advance on past models.
