Working outside his band Heldon, Richard Pinhas creates marvelous visions of cold and desolate landscapes. The album features long ambient washes of timbres with rhythm at times. He is crafty at creating soundscapes of frozen kingdoms of the northern hemisphere such as Greenland. Using mostly synthesizers, tape loops, and guitar, Pinhas recorded the album in 1979 in Paris with the song Wintermusic recorded live in the studio in 1983.
