    Tones Timbre is the first album recorded by Jack Hertz, then working under the name J. Hurwitz. The album was released on Cassette in 1988 on the Poison Plant Music label. The album was reissued in 2010 on limited edition CD-R and digital download as No. 2 in a series of reissues covering of Hertz's 1980s cassette recordings. Additionally, the re-issue includes a bonus side from the 1989 "Music From Distant Days" cassette release.
