    Description
Akai released the MPC60 II in 1991 with largely the same features as the original with some differences such as the LCD display was no longer moveable and was set at a fixed angle however there was a contrast adjustment setting. Another difference was the chassis was now plastic and not metal as the original
    .
One welcome feature was a front panel stereo headphone jack which was absent of the original MPC60. The rest of the unit offered the same over all specs however memory was reduced to only 750 kb but could be doubled to expand the recording time up to 13 seconds.

Sequencing remained as 99 sequences(songs) and 99 tracks(parts), extensive drum editing, programming, and, mixing. The MPC60 shined with drum programming and sequencing with it's real time sequencer or step editing sequencing.

The mixing section was also intact with drum be panning in stereo with echo mixing and send/return. The sampling resolution was still at 12 bit but with 40hz sampling rate and 18 hz bandwidth.
