Noah combines the innovativeness of software plug-in technology with the advantages of a traditional instrument: Simplicity. Reliability. Mobility. Spontaneity.
Based on the latest DSP plug-in technology, Noah offers absolutely accurate reproductions of legendary instruments. Along with completely new, previously unheard sounds. Noah unites a huge range of different synthesis forms, delivering a quality and variety of sound never before heard from a keyboard.
For a long time there's been no good reason to buy a new synthesizer. That has changed. Now there is Noah.
The Secret of the Noah Sound
Noah is an instrument modeler. For the first time - thanks to both its flexible, no-compromises DSP technology and to the uncompromising CreamWare software engineers who put that technology to work - Noah offers true 1:1 modeling of analog instruments. Noah brings legendary vintage instruments to life again through exacting software emulations of the original circuitry - faithful down to the finest detail. You actually play the "real instrument". With all of its detailed nuance and articulated performance realism.
In addition to the emulation of classic analog synths, Noah features various other synthesis methods as well. The basic package supplied with Noah comprises instruments which are based on wavetables or vector synthesis, an instrument which employs a new physical modeling technique for stringed instruments, and an accurate emulation of a drawbar organ. An unbelievably broad spectrum of sounds!
But it doesn't end there. In contrast to conventional synthesizers, Noah's basic architecture is completely flexible. Additional instruments and new synthesis technologies can be added quite simply as software plug-ins. Noah can adapt and re-invent itself without end. You might say that Noah comes with the sound of the future already built in.
The Noah Instruments
Six spectacular instruments, over 1000 inspiring sounds - and that's only the beginning. The basic package supplied with Noah comprises the following:
The first truly accurate reproduction of one of the most-loved synths of all time. Never before has an analog synthesizer been emulated with such precision and perfection. Minimax sounds just as fat and intense as the legendary original. Let your own ears be the judge. The only sonic clue that the Minimax is not really analog is that it never goes out of tune. By the way - you can also play it polyphonically.
As its name indicates, the B-2003 is a drawbar organ in the tradition of the venerable Hammond B-3TM. All features of the original are accurately modeled: the 91 tone wheels, which can be played with full polyphony, the characteristic key click and percussion, the scanner vibrato, the overdrive and the rotating speaker effects. A great instrument, no matter whether you're into Rock, Pop or Dance music.
Thanks to a new physical modeling technique, Six-String produces string instrument sounds with a degree of realism unparalleled by any previous algorithm. Great for acoustic and electric guitars and basses, but also for sitars, dulcimers - and the sounds of hitherto unknown instruments.
You can select from among different string types (steel, nylon, special bass strings) and the position and type of string excitation. You can also adjust two virtual pick-ups, select from among various body profiles, control the slap behavior, and much more. And thanks to Noah's effects section with guitar amp and sophisticated tube simulation you can get Six-String really rocking and rolling.
The inspiration for this synthesizer was drawn from a famous classic from the early days of digital synthesis - namely, the Prophet VSTM. Advanced vector synthesis, combined with a fat analog-sounding filter, produces breathtaking sounds: animated pads and bizarre effects, but also excellent typical synth sounds, punchy basses, sparkling e-pianos and much more.
Creamware has integrated 128 different waveforms into this powerful wavetable synthesizer. In addition to this, two filters - configurable in series or in parallel - and extensive modulation features make for a full-color spectrum of sounds. From typical synth and layered sounds, to complex, dynamically evolving sounds - the Lightwave has it all.
All instruments are polyphonic, and equipped with sounds created by top sound designers. Even in the basic version, Noah offers you over 1000 sounds! Sounds can be edited directly on the instrument itself, or via computer using the included graphical software.
The High-End Effects Section
Noah not only features unique instruments, it also boasts an extraordinary effects section. More than 40 algorithms are available, all of them calculated with 32-bit precision for ultimate sound quality. Thanks to its audio inputs, Noah can also be used as an effects processor for external signals (microphone, guitar) - even while producing its own sounds!
Extensive Computer Integration
Noah requires no computer to operate effectively. Nevertheless, you can integrate it seamlessly into your Mac* or PC environment through its onboard USB interface and the included editing software. The USB interface simultaneously transfers MIDI and six channels of digital audio. Thus you can even use Noah as a USB audio interface for your notebook!
At the same time USB serves as communications link to Noah for the remote-editing software. With this powerful software, all Noah instruments can be edited graphically on the computer. Complete configurations can be created conveniently on screen, and new instruments and sounds can be downloaded into Noah directly from the Internet via the computer and played immediately.
* Editing software for Mac projected to be available in the middle of 2003.
Noah comes as a compact 19" rack module. It features a 2x40 character display and is equipped with four combination rotary-encoder / push-button controls for performance use.
Regarding audio inputs and outputs, Noah features everything one could desire. Noah is equipped with stereo analog input and output, eight individual digital outs in ADAT format, Wordclock for the synchronization in digital setups, headphone output, MIDI In/Out/Thru, USB port and a slot for Compact Flash data storage.
