The Basset is a simple bass synthesizer released by Hohner in 1963. It is a simple instrument that carries a solid low end sound and is highly regraded to this day. It is the first all solid state bass synthesizer.

The instrument features 3 settings: Gitarre, String, and Tuba. It has two knobs. One for volume and the other is labeled Perc which acts as an attack envelope only. The unit also features a convenient microphone stand attachment for mounting to mic stand.
