Description
In 1986 Korg introduced the DSS-1 Sampling Synthesizer as their first venture into digital sampling. The DSS-1 went further than just a sampler.

As a sampler it was 12-bit sampler with fixed sampling rates of 16, 24, 32 and 48kHz. the maximum sample times went from 16 seconds down to 5.5 seconds at a rate of 48kHz.Also feature an auto-loop function with crossfade and back-and-forth looping.

While still a synthesizer that retained much of the architecture of the DW synths previously seen, The DSS-1 also had onboard Additive Synthesis with 128 sine waves and also user created wave forms using the DSS-1 data sliders.

The DSS-1 had a floppy disk drive for storage and MIDI IN/OUT/THRU. You could also play live audio through it's sampling audio input and process it through the filter and onboard stereo digital delay.
