Moog Taurus II

   0 reviews  -  1706 views

The Taurus II Bass Foot Pedal Synthesizer was released at the closing of the original Taurus I product. It featured a controller synth module on top of the 13 foot pedal controller. The idea being the player had more control over the sound editing in real time. Without any patch saving memory this probably was a good trade off.

The synthesizer section is a separate module that is a Moog Rogue Synthesizer at it's core. The synthesizer module section is connected via cable to the 13 pedal floor controller section. The module is mounted over the top of the pedal board via a mic style stand and connected by the included cable(s). The foot pedals also have CV/Gate out so they could also control other analog synthesizers if desired.

The synthesizer module features much the same sound engine as the Rogue synthesizer, itself still in production at the same time. It was basic but very useful and was engineered for the lower registers particularly bass. Featuring square and saw waveforms. Unlike the Taurus I model the Taurus II features an audio input to process external audio through the unit's 24 decibel Low Pass Filter.
