Roland JW-50 Music Workstation

The Roland JW-50 is a synthesizer workstation with an architecture similar to the JV50 and JV30 instruments. The JW-50 features a 61 key (aftertouch and velocity sensitive), keyboard and is a 24 voice multitimbral digital GS/GM compatible synthesizer. Its a first of it's kind at least from Roland who were very much in the lead of making GS/GM compatible instruments. A user could compose up to 16 tracks within a song on one keyboard and have it playback exactly as was composed/recorded with the built in MIDI sequencer. The instrument was compatible with then new General Standard song format which later became General MIDI.The instrument also featured one oscillator, filter, envelope, and LFO. Also featured a built in chorus and reverb for further sonic enhancement.
