Yamaha DX100 Digital Programmable Algorithm Synthesizer

   (0 reviews)

Your Yamaha DX100 Digital Programmable Algorithm Synthesizer incorporates state-of-the—art digital FM tone generation technology, providing extraordinarily vibrant, rich voices and outstanding play-ability.

The DX100 has a programmable 24~voice INTERNAL memory (RAM) from which any voice can be selected at the touch of a button, two 96-voice PRESET (ROM) memories (3 total of 192 fine presetvoicesl), a 96-voice BANK memory that permits storage of PRESET voices in any configuration for one-touch selection, and a cassette interface that permits unlimited storage of FM voices.

Of course, the DX100 is fully programmable, allowing you to create your own FM voices or sound effects. Broad MIDI compatibility is also provided so the DX100 can control or be controlled via other MIDI-compatible music equipment.

Digital FM (Frequency Modulation) Synthesis

Four operators, each comprising a digital sine wave generator and a five-paramater envelope generator, are utilized in the arrangement of "algorithms" producing a broad array of sound.

Preset ROM Voices

192 preset ROM voices accessible through two separate play modes.

Voice Programming

Special edit function allows the programming of all the voice parameters for any of the existing voices.

Bank Play Mode

Contains 192 preset ROM voices in 4 banks of 24 voices that can be rearranged, selected and edited to suit individual tastes or requirements.

Internal Play Mode

Accesses the 24-voice internal RAM, where a personal "voice set" can be stored, edited, and from where original voices can be instantly recalled.

Cassette Storage

Equipped with a data cassette interface through which newly created or edited voices can be permanently stored.

Effects Controllers

The Pitch Bend and the Modulation Wheel, along with the optional Breath Controller add enhanced expression and a broader range of voices.

MIDI Functions

Completely MIDI-compatable, therefore MIDI information can be sent and received by the DX100 as part of an entire MIDI network.
